Understanding Just Culture

This West Africa Branch event explores the concept of Just Culture and its application across various sectors.

Just Culture is a framework that balances safety and accountability, encouraging open reporting of errors and near-misses without fear of punishment, while still holding individuals accountable for reckless behaviour.

Initially developed in the aviation industry to enhance safety and learning from mistakes, Just Culture principles are now being adopted in healthcare, nuclear power, and other high-risk industries.

Highlighting the benefits of fostering a Just Culture, including improved safety outcomes, enhanced organisational learning, and a more transparent and supportive work environment.
