IOSH qualifications
Develop your skills and knowledge with the right qualification
Having an internationally recognised qualification is one of the best ways of demonstrating your competence in occupational safety and health (OSH). A professional qualification from IOSH indicates your suitability to take on a highly responsible role in health and safety. It opens doors and is often considered the best way to further your career.
Why choose an IOSH qualification?
Our qualifications are a little different.
- Developed by safety and health professionals – for safety and health professionals. They’re mapped to IOSH’s competency framework – so what you learn is in line with the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to succeed in today’s workplace.
- Real-world relevance. The online assessments for the Certificate and centre-based assessments for the Diploma reflect practical, work-related activities.
- Choice of study centres and learning formats. Study in a style and at a time that suits you. We have a growing network of approved study centres offering a range of delivery methods, including face-to-face, online and hybrid learning.
Which qualification is right for you?
IOSH offers two qualifications. As well as the quality assurance and international recognition that come from their association with IOSH, they are designed to be transferable across various industries and regions.

IOSH Certificate
If you are in the early stages of your career, the IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Principles and Practice will expand your knowledge and skills.
Studying for the Certificate will help you to feel more confident and excel in your job. It is affordable and can fit easily around your work and domestic arrangements.

IOSH Diploma
If you already have some experience of working in the health and safety field, you can unlock new career opportunities with the IOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Leadership and Management.
The Diploma will set you apart from the crowd. You’ll be able to demonstrate to your current (or future) employer how you can improve business performance by applying the high levels of OSH competence that you’ll gain. You’ll be able to study without disruption to your daily work responsibilities.

“There’s so much insight and knowledge for real-world application to use in the workplace and wherever I might end up going forward as well. It just helped expand the knowledge that I had previously and covered plenty of new subjects as well.”
