What we do
Find out about the different parts of our work
We’re the voice of the occupational health and safety profession and support our members to make the world of work safer and healthier. We develop and connect our members with the resources, guidance, events and training that they need.
We set standards in occupational safety and health by accrediting qualifications for membership and as an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation.
And you can improve your professional knowledge and find answers to real-world workplace issues with our safety and health courses.
We are a leading voice on the issues affecting the safety, health and wellbeing of people at work across all sectors and around the world. Through research and consultation with our members, we develop policy positions that inform our influencing activity and help governments and other bodies on policy issues.

Our vision is a safe and healthy world of work but we can't achieve it without the help of our thriving global community. That includes over 50,000 global members, our dedicated volunteers, experienced training partners and the academics who support our research and helps us to set national and international standards.
We also collaborate with global and regional partners to improve occupational safety and health around the world.
At IOSH we don't just talk the talk. We act.
That's why we're supporting four projects in rural Africa. These could change the lives of some of the most vulnerable workers.
We're working alongside our global partners to improve working conditions for these women, so they can go home from work unharmed.
We help businesses make the most of their investment in safety and health. Our expert team at IOSH for Business is here to help with all your occupational safety and health needs.
Want a job with the chance to make a real impact on people’s lives? Come and work for us and contribute to making the world of work safer and healthier.
We have branches and districts around the globe, supported and driven by committees of member volunteers. Our network of branches strengthens the relationship between IOSH and the global health and safety community at a local level. We also have 18 industry-specific groups which bring together members with a shared interest or specialism.
