Batteries and fire risks

Tees Branch

Date
19 November 2024
Type
Event

Over the last five to 10 years there has been a significant rise in the use of battery-powered equipment, including power tools, vacuum cleaners and a myriad of other appliances across many business sectors. At the same time, there have been well-publicised cases of fires at work and at home caused by lithium-ion batteries, including e-bikes being left to charge overnight.

The purpose of this online Tees Branch event is to give health and safety professionals a better understanding of this technology and a realistic appraisal of the risk and ideas on how to store, use and charge batteries in a way that minimises the risk to your workplace.

This event is open to IOSH members and non-members.
