This Tyne and Wear Branch event will be presented by Dr Stephen Ross, Director of Qualitek Safety Ltd. Dr Ross will outline the requirements of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislation to ensure the control of exposure in the workplace and protect workers’ health. He will also address the requirement for occupational health surveillance.
Topics covered will include:
- the legal requirements
- what health surveillance is and when it is necessary
- the objectives of health surveillance
- how to implement and manage health surveillance
- the specific roles and responsibilities related to the activity.
Dr Ross will also cover the legal aspects of screening and testing for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and how this is managed to make sure testing is reliable and accurate.
