No Time to Lose gains Lagos State backing ahead of Nigeria launch

Ahead of IOSH’S West African launch the No Time to Lose campaign gains the support of 5 organisations in the lead up to the event in Nigeria on the 22 January.

NTTL has gained the backing of five organisations prior to the launch taking place at the Shaping the Future of Occupational Safety and Health in Africa.

New supporters of NTTL include the Lagos State Safety Commission, Gokada Rides Limited, Kevron Consulting Limited, Hybrid Group and MTC Enterprise Development Limited.

IOSH have partnered with the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Lagos State Safety Commission who will show their support for the launches of the  NCFE IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for Business and NTTL across West Africa.

This collaborative work is designed to address the negative social and economic impacts of poor safety and health at work. For example, as a proportion of GDP, the average cost of work-related injuries and ill-health in Nigeria is 4.38% That’s higher than the international average, 3.94%.

IOSH Vice-President Kayode Fowode who will present the campaign said:

“We are pleased to hear that Nigerian organisations the Environment and Safety Management Institute and Gokada Rides Limited have already signed-up as supporters. We look forward to receiving backing from many more organisations in Africa for our No Time to Lose campaign.”

No Time to Lose currently has the backing of over 365 organisations worldwide and more than 130 leading businesses have pledged to act.
