IOSH Chief Executive attending Commonwealth Day service and reception
IOSH Chief Executive Vanessa Harwood-Whitcher is attending a service and reception in London to mark Commonwealth Day 2023.
Vanessa will be among dignitaries at a multi-faith service at Westminster Abbey on Monday 13 March. This will feature a procession of young flag bearers representing each of the 56 nations of the Commonwealth, as well as a wreath-laying ceremony at the Commonwealth Memorial Gates, and a flag-raising event for the Commonwealth Flag for Peace.
Later in the day Vanessa will attend a reception hosted by HRH King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
IOSH and the Commonwealth
This year’s Commonwealth Day marks the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Commonwealth Charter by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As one of accredited organisations, IOSH proudly celebrates Commonwealth Day and the Commonwealth Charter. The theme for this year is ‘forging a sustainable and peaceful common future’.
IOSH supports the work of the Commonwealth by helping member countries create safe and healthy work environments.
