On site with an occupational hygienist

Another great event for the branch with 68 people in attendance to hear great speakers on interesting and ‘in demand’ subjects.

Tudor Williams – Branch Chair, gave an overview of the branch updates and forward programme followed with a session focussing on Professional Development and Membership. During the session we asked the attendees

  • What is important for you over the coming months with regard to the support and programme offered by the branch?
  • Which of the following areas would you want support with over the coming months?

The results of these questions are displayed in the attached photos.
The branch will continue to use your valued feedback to tailor future sessions to meet with the needs of the membership

Joanne Price – IOSH Council, addressed us on the role of IOSH council and the importance of engaging in the current council election,

Kelvin Williams – Occupational Hygienist gave us great detail on how an occupational hygienist approaches and conducts a site visit. The discussion outlined the range of issues that a professional hygienist has to consider. This involves a lot more than just relying on the results from some measurements made in the course of a shift. Kelvin demonstrated immense knowledge and experience on the subject and this will prove of great benefit to those who needed the information and guidance on this subject.

All of the topics had great depth and showed how valuable our monthly seminars are continuing to be. Our speakers are all experts in their fields and bring a lot to these events and the branch in general.
