High-rise crisis planning and safety at height
- Date

Summary
Working at height in high-rise environments is one of the most critical challenges in occupational safety and the construction industry.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) records that there are more than 1,500 buildings over 200 metres tall worldwide. This proliferation, coupled with increased safety risks associated with construction and maintenance, means that falls from height remain the leading cause of fatal workplace injuries.
As part of its ‘Don’t fall silent’ campaign, IOSH has organised three webinars. IOSH President, Kelly Nicoll, hosts the first of these, focussing on emergency planning and crisis management. Using real-world case studies from high-rise construction projects around the world, the webinar considers:
- how different regions approach regulations and safety culture
- how strategies are implemented for effective crisis planning and emergency response
- how innovations in technology and equipment can improve safety at height.
From one challenge to many perspectives, join us and discover how safety professionals across the world are addressing the challenge of high-rise risk and emergency response.
