A message from IOSH Chief Executive Bev Messinger

In these uncertain times, I wanted to reassure you that the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is working hard to ensure we keep focused on our support for members, volunteers, businesses and strategic stakeholders, and we are operating very much as business as usual.

IOSH has a crucial role to play during these unprecedented and challenging times. We are here front-and-centre to support you since we know you will be under huge pressure within your own organisations. At this time, being part of a global network of OSH professionals, all supporting each other, comes into its own.

We have worked with IOSH staff to protect their health and wellbeing, and 75% of colleagues are now working at home. It is our intention to retain a skeleton staff in The Grange for as long as we are safely able to do so. You do not need to change the way you contact us as all the usual systems remain in place.

Similarly, we wanted to ensure that the welfare of our volunteers is of paramount importance. We have cancelled all branch and groups events indefinitely, including the suspension of travel between countries and within the UK for IOSH activities. Colleagues are supporting holding networks events and AGMs virtually where possible.

IOSH has been working hard with its training provider network and we appreciate many of you are small businesses facing challenging trading conditions. We are playing an active role helping our partners through this difficult time and will be in touch directly with news of further support over the coming weeks.

Thank you for the active role you are playing as OSH professionals. We recognise how much your organisations will be relying on you at this time, and you, in turn, can rely on us. We are here if you need us.

Wishing you good health and best regards,
