IOSH uses a number of social media platforms to communicate with members and beyond. There are multiple ways you can get involved with IOSH on social media, as a network and as an individual. 


This is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 280-character messages called "tweets". Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them.

All IOSH branches and groups now have a Twitter account. It’s a great way to keep in touch with your members, share content from your network pages and join conversations with other OSH professionals. The branch and group Twitter accounts should be managed by the Communications Co-Ordinator, unless another member of the committee is thought to be better suited. Your Regional Manager (branches) or Relationship Manager (groups) will be able to help if you don’t already have access to this.

From your personal accounts, you can also help promote IOSH by liking, sharing and commenting content from IOSH's Twitter accounts.

@IOSH_tweets - our main Twitter feed, centring on IOSH news and information, and debates on issues throughout the world of health and safety.
@IOSH_trainers - a ‘point of contact’ for IOSH’s community of approved trainers, with updates on all there is to know about our licensed products and the support we provide to our training providers.
@IOSH_conference - provides event updates and news from flagship IOSH events.
@_NTTL - the Twitter feed for IOSH’s No Time to Lose campaign, which aims to raise awareness of occupational cancers and offer free, original materials for businesses to help them deliver effective prevention programmes.


Facebook users can create a user profile, add other users as ‘friends’, exchange messages, post status updates and photos, share videos and receive notifications when others update their profiles.

Although IOSH branches and groups don’t have official accounts or pages on Facebook, we encourage members to get involved by following the IOSH Facebook page and commenting on and sharing our posts. IOSH posts about upcoming events, new training products and campaigns, and important news items.


LinkedIn is seen as the professional social network. Users can create profiles, list their skills, education and work backgrounds and make “connections” with other users. Employers can set up a business profile which users can link to as an employee.

Groups on LinkedIn act as a forum where users can post on a certain topic. An increasing number of IOSH branches and groups have LinkedIn groups, they are a good place to discuss a local issue or sector news and get responses from people who are actively interested in that area. You don’t have to be an IOSH member to join an IOSH LinkedIn group. Your RM will be able to help you access or set up an IOSH LinkedIn Group if required.

If you would like to interact with IOSH accounts from your personal account, you will find IOSH in several places on LinkedIn. The IOSH company page can be used to find out the latest news and events from IOSH. We have three showcase pages, where you will find out more about IOSH's annual conference, updates for IOSH trainers and information on opportunities to get involved with our work.
