Progress to the next membership level
IOSH membership is recognised worldwide as the benchmark for professional safety and health excellence
As your knowledge and skills develop as an OSH professional, you want to be able to show employers that you’re highly skilled and dedicated to the profession.
If you’ve gained a new qualification that we accredit or you now have more experience in the field, you could be eligible to move up to the next membership level. The qualifications and experience needed for each category are displayed below. Alternatively, you can find out more on our membership categories page.
How do I upgrade to the next membership level?
If you know you’re eligible to change categories, or you’re not sure and would like us to check for you, please send the documents listed below to our Professional Development Team.
For Associate/Technical membership
- An up-to-date CV explaining your health and safety experience (at least two years’ full-time up to five years’ part-time).
- Qualification certificates.
For Graduate membership
- An up-to-date CV explaining your health and safety experience.
- Qualification certificates and evidence of the units completed. This evidence includes: the second page of the qualification certificate, a formal headed letter from the provider, unit certificates, a transcript or result notification.
Please do not send us original documents – good quality copies are acceptable. We will let you know the outcome within six working weeks of receipt.
