CPD records closed on SkilSure
Important information for members
IOSH has closed all continuing professional development (CPD) records on SkilSure. This means all members need to use our new CPD platform, Blueprint.
This closure only affects members who were still recording their CPD on SkilSure (our old CPD system).
Graduate Members, who are on an Initial Professional Development (IPD) route towards Chartered, will still have access to SkilSure for the assessment element of their journey.
Why have we switched off CPD in SkilSure?
We launched Blueprint – an all-in-one package for career and self-development activity – in November 2022. It provides:
- a self-assessment tool
- personal development plan (PDP)
- nearly 1,000 CPD resources
- CPD record
- IOSH’s Ethical Practice in OSH e-learning and assessment.
All elements align to our competency framework and are designed to enhance your professional journey. Read more about Blueprint and the benefits it can bring you as a member.
We left open the CPD element of SkilSure – for a limited time – for members finishing their assessment journeys to Chartered Member and Chartered Fellow status. This was so they could complete their CPD in preparation for their Peer Review Interviews (PRIs).
Your CPD record is now on Blueprint
For any members still using SkilSure, we’ve set things up for you on Blueprint by importing your CPD record from November 2021 to November 2022. Now we’ve closed SkilSure, we will update Blueprint again with any records you have on there from November 2022 to 31 July 2023.
To complete your imported CPD record on Blueprint, add in your start and end dates and reflections for each activity. A reflection is a statement about what you have learnt and how you have put this learning into practice. It also helps you identify your strengths or areas for further improvement or learning to enable you to continually grow.
Then your CPD record will be fully up to date.
Graduate Members on the IPD route
If you’re working through the Electronic Open Assessment and/or the Electronic Skills Development Portfolio of IPD, your assessment will remain within the SkilSure platform. However, you need to complete your CPD in Blueprint.
Once you have passed the assessment stage, IOSH will conduct a CPD Review before you can sit your PRI.
To ensure you’re ready, please take the time to review your CPD and:
- complete your self-assessment
- build your personal development plan (PDP).
Chartered Members working towards Chartered Fellow status
You are also required to record and maintain your CPD record through Blueprint. You will need to complete your self-assessment and PDP before you can sit your PRI.
Why CPD is important
CPD is an investment in yourself. It’s a career-long process of improvement, keeping your skills and knowledge up to date through development activities and then recording and reflecting on what you have gained or achieved.
CPD is open to all IOSH members, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of our programme.
How can I log into Blueprint to record my CPD?
We sent all members an email with their username and temporary password when we launched Blueprint. If you can’t find this email, visit Blueprint and select ‘forgot password’. You will then be able to re-set your password to one of your choosing. Please note that your username is the email address that you use for your IOSH membership account.
We recommend accessing Blueprint on a desktop using the Chrome browser for the best experience. Accessibility support is available through Recite Me. Please click on the bottom right-hand corner of Blueprint to open the accessibility toolbar.
