The first Safety, Health and Environment apprenticeship was developed by a ‘Trailblazer’ group of employers and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education in 2017.
IOSH was consulted and engaged during the 18-month development, ensuring the standard of the apprenticeship is appropriate and robust, and that it covered the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours required for Technical Membership.
We are proud to support the apprenticeship by offering Student Membership to Safety, Health, and Environment Technician Apprentices. We also facilitate the future development and necessary update of the standard in line with our membership grades. Employers continue to manage the direction of the apprenticeship.
