Logistics and Retail Group strategy
As health and safety practitioners in the fields of retailing and distribution, we can often find ourselves working alone. Our remits cover a wide range of operations, often with many sites, complex environments and public as well as employee safety concerns.
The nature of our industry can make it hard to meet people in a similar role, so our mission is to encourage networking to help share experience. We aim to support our members to develop cohesive and effective health and safety management systems in their businesses without them having to waste their efforts or reinvent any wheels.
We aim to support our members in various ways. These include:
- Collaborating with partners, including enforcement agencies, on influencing the development of guidance that can be regarded as authoritative on issues that are of particular relevance to our members.
- Organising seminars on topics of topical concern, and events such as site visits, which also provide opportunities for members to meet like minded colleagues from other organisations.
- Running webinars on specific issues.
- Enhancing the opportunity for our members to share their experience and concerns through our own web forum.

To deliver this strategy we need the support of our Logistics and Retail Group Members and if you have any suggestions for events or just want to get involved, please contact the committee via the IOSH Networks team.
