The Institution of Fire Engineers is a non profit making professional body and registered charity with a rapidly growing membership and a global reach that extends through international branches. Licensed by the Engineering Council, the IFE upholds professional standards within all public and private fire sectors by offering assessment of knowledge, experience and development and engages with major stakeholders to offer international conferences, identify and promote good practice and enhance technical networks worldwide.

The Institute of Fire Prevention Officers main aim is to enable all members to constantly maintain a professional approach to fire safety. The Institute will use every means at its disposal, including education and advice, to achieve and sustain this aim.

The Institute of Fire Safety Managers is a professional body of highly respected individuals and companies who all share the same objective, which is "To raise the awareness of fire safety at a local, national and international level, promoting fire prevention, fire protection and reducing the risk from fire, as far as reasonably practicable."

The Fire Law Scotland

The Fire Law Scotland features include a useful 10 key facts section and sector specific information. There is also a range of helpful guidance plus blank risk assessment record sheets, risk assessment guidance and examples of completed record sheets.



The Fire Sector Federation

The Fire Sector Federation is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation formed from the merger of the Fire Sector Partnership and the Federation of British Fire Organisations. The FSF acts as a forum for the discussion of fire-related issues of interest to its membership and to evolve as a central source of information on all aspects relating to fire. It brings together representatives from a range of stakeholders which make up the UK Fire Sector.

The Fire Industry Association is a not-for-profit trade association with the aim of promoting the professional status of the UK fire safety industry.

The Building Research Establishment

The Building Research Establishment operates one of Europe's largest fire research laboratories (Fire and Risk Services division). There is also plenty of information on detailed building and product fire tests.

The National Fire Sprinkler Network

The National Fire Sprinkler Network is free from commercial interest. They view the development and increase in the application of fire sprinkler technology as an enhancement of the public good and in recent years have launched a number of successful sprinkler campaigns. Recently they were successful in supporting a major campaign by Ann Jones AM, of the Welsh Assembly, which will compel house builders to fit automatic sprinklers into new homes built in Wales.

The Worshipful Company of Firefighters prime objective and intention is to promote the development and advancement of the science, art and the practice of fire fighting, fire prevention and life safety. It also encourages good professional behaviour and an exchange of information between Members of the Company and others who work in allied fields.

National Fire Chiefs Council

The NFCC has a unique role in representing fire and rescue services on the national stage with one voice for maximum impact and harnessing the knowledge and expertise across the country, bringing it together for the benefit of all. We want our members to understand what we can do to support and help their own fire and rescue service on a day-to-day basis, but also in times of crisis. 

Campaigns - NFCC coordinates and supports a number of national safety week initiatives. Fire and rescue services across the country, and supporting partners deliver these campaigns which aim to raise public awareness and reduce preventable deaths.
