Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR)

OSHCR was established in response to the Government's Common Sense, Common Safety report, which recommended that all health and safety consultants should be accredited to a professional body and a web-based directory was established. The register aims to assist businesses to find advice on general health and safety management. IOSH is one of the professional bodies that have worked together in partnership to develop the register, which has established a benchmark standard for safety consultants and help to raise the quality of advice being given to businesses.

IOSH members wishing to join the register must hold chartered status (CMIOSH). In order to be chartered members must hold a degree level qualification, have at least two years experience and maintain active engagement in a continuing professional development scheme. Businesses can have confidence in choosing a health & safety consultant from the register, as they are bound by their professional body's code of conduct and are committed to providing sensible and proportionate health and safety advice. You can search for a consultant by region, industry or topic, to enable you to find someone who will provide specific, tailored advice, relevant to your business needs.
