The IOSH West of Scotland Branch invited David Wright of Glasgow Airport to provide us with an update on the global Terrorism picture and how this needs to be considered when assessing risks for businesses. This presentation will cover the competency of risk management at an intermediate level.

David has been involved in Aviation Security for over 20 years. He is the Compliance Advisor ensuring that the many processes and policies are in place and are being observed. He is the link to many external agencies and on National Groups including CCTV Policy, Cargo Movements and is essentially the single point of contact with many enforcement agencies.

Following the presentation, the committee went over some Branch business.

We were delighted to welcome back Amy Anderson of BTO Solicitors to our September virtual branch meeting. She reviewed developments in the law that touched on health and safety. These included sentencing, COVID, the consultation out for the building regs in England and Scotland and current HSE hot topics
