Message from the Chair
Our people are our most valuable assets, making safety a core value. The IOSH North West District will work with and support all companies within our area to ensure we have commonality throughout our District in regards to Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability management.
Our mission statement is made of 6 Core Values:
- To support all companies and business that attends the IOSH meetings.
- To share Best Practices, Innovations, Policies & Procedures,
- To give Health the same amount of publicity as Safety,
- To develop and mentor up and coming practitioners,
- To support other IOSH Branches/Districts
- To embed the IOSH Code of Conduct as part of our everyday life
We hold regular meetings at the Whitehaven Golf Club, Red Lonning, Whitehaven, Cumbria, CA14 4QH. Our district has a warm and friendly, informal atmosphere.
Our events are open to all IOSH members and in addition we also welcome individuals who are considering joining IOSH or considering a move into the safety profession.
You will find a warm welcome, as well as and the opportunity to up-date your workplace health and safety knowledge and skills from presentations by HSE specialists and industry 'experts'. The events allow time to meet and network with other safety professionals who can also offer advice and guidance on numerous topics, and make new friends and contacts.
Branch members are encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to the branch meetings. Members are free to circulate details of the branch programme at their place of work to encourage new members.
There are a wide range of membership levels within our district who can assist in mentoring and advising on best practice for any individual who is hoping to join IOSH or upgrade their membership.
An AGM has recently taken place to recruit committee members for the North West District. The committee are actively seeking to improve, and wish to find out your views which will help them decide the most beneficial programme of events and help transform the district to attract members to future meetings. To help the committee, please spare a few minutes to complete this short survey.
