Joint event with Chiltern Branch – Competency Framework and Your journey through the membership grades

Our 2nd virtual event but our first joint one, combining with the Chiltern branch, was a great success,
Chair of the branch Tudor gave a presentation on moving through the grades of IOSH membership, including looking at the importance of keeping your CPD record up to date, and the requirements of professional development. These are subject areas in their own right that the branch will look further at in the coming months.

The meeting included a presentation from IOSH vice president Louise Hosking, chair of the Chiltern branch, who covered the importance of the new IOSH competency framework and its role in guiding the safety professional in a changing safety environment.
Together both presentations assisted members to make sure they are continually aware of the importance of staying up to date and in touch and assisting others in their branch where they can.

Our next virtual zoom meeting is on 25th June and we have 2 excellent speakers. Sue Carlick from Red Dragon training will be addressing issues of mental health and wellbeing with particular emphasis on the balance and challenges of returning to workplaces and balancing all the pressures and issues surrounding this.
The event will also see Kirsty Angerer, 'The Travelling Ergonomist' who will give an entertaining and informative presentation on the importance of ergonomics at this time, its challenges, and solutions. Both speakers are highly respected in their fields and as always will give up to date and beneficial presentations on their subjects. Both sessions will be supported by branch updates, IOSH information and guidance, and opportunities for questions and discussions to keep you up to date and informed.

This event will require pre-registration.

Thank-you again to everyone who made our Joint Virtual branch event a great success.
