IOSH South Coast – A message from our Chair

Hello and welcome!

The South Coast Branch supports IOSH members from the local counties in the South of England, from Weymouth in the West to Chichester in the East and up to the M4 corridor. We welcome anyone from IOSH, other H&S organisations and anyone interested in health, safety and wellbeing.

We have an annual programme (available on our events page) of nine Branch meetings, running from April to March (no meetings in July, August or December); we meet on the second Monday of each month either virtually via Zoom or face-to-face at the Highpoint Centre, Bursledon Road, Thornhill, Southampton, SO19 8BR (unless otherwise indicated when the meetings are advertised); we offer tea/coffee and a light buffet at our face-to-face meetings which usually start at 6.45pm.

Our branch meetings usually start with details of IOSH updates, local issues/concerns from members, enforcement visits, job opportunities and we always have a networking session so members can have a chat with each other (at face-to-face meetings).  Branch meetings include guest speakers who provide a range of presentations and insight into topics  which we align with the Competency Framework. We also actively encourage and welcome non-members to attend our events to learn about issues and challenges in the field of health, safety and wellbeing.

The Executive Committee meets virtually every other month, and we hold our Branch AGM each May.

Please get in touch if you would like any more information, would like to present an interesting topic or would like to partner with our Branch on other events. I look forward to meeting you in person or hearing from you 'online' (southcoast@ioshnetworks.com

Best wishes
