Mid Shires Branch - letter from the Chair

Mid Shires Chair Monthly Message – March

Thanks very much to Adam Faiers and Alister Constantine of Spedan Limited for their very informative presentation on the ISO45001 management system at our last Branch meeting.

Our next meeting, on the 12th March, is regarding Emergency Chemical First Aid. It will give you a better understanding of what to consider in relation to chemical hazards, injuries and the precautions to be taken.

The speaker is Rebekah Holmes of Diphex Limited, she is the third generation of the family working in the business, so literally involved in chemical first aid all her life.

In addition to the above there will be an update on the JSP Limited site visit in May so please be sure to attend.

Our next annual Mid Shires seminar will be on the 19th March 2020 and the topic is “Mental Health – It’s the mind that matters” with presentations from a wide range of sectors, and from a variety of experts within their fields, we aim to highlight the wide-ranging problem of mental health within the working environment.

A quick reminder that our monthly Branch Meetings are held at:

The Draycote Hotel

London Road

Warwickshire CV23 9LF

Please don’t use the postcode in your SAT NAV it will send you somewhere completely different! The hotel is directly off the A45 London Road.

The doors will open at 6pm, tea/coffee and biscuits will be available with time for networking until 6.30pm. The meeting will start at 6.30pm and finish at 8pm.

The meetings are held on the evening of the second Thursday of the month (apart from the summer break in August).

We also offer an informal 30-minute CPD/IPD round table discussion before the Branch meeting, allowing members to share their experiences and provide support for each other. If you could notify midshires@ioshnetworks.com in advance that you would like to take part in the discussion, we will ensure a Mid Shires committee member is available to chair the meeting.

We always aim to provide you the members with the topics that you wish us to cover and if you have a specific question that you would like some advice on you can always take advantage of our Q&A session at the start of each meeting.

If you’re new to our meetings, you’re especially welcome and we hope that you’ll enjoy our friendly environment. Whether you’re a visitor or regular attendee at our branch activities, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you.

Best Regards,

Roger Ward
