We are the IOSH Ireland Western District, and we're here to help those of you in Laois, Offaly, Galway, Clare and Limerick who have either a direct involvement or an active interest in workplace health and safety, and who want to keep more up-to-date with current and emerging health and safety issues.
What do we do?
Each year, we organise a series of free evening seminars, delivered by experienced health and safety practitioners, covering such topics as:
- Electrical safety
- Asbestos in the workplace
- Emergency planning and management
- Aspects of Occupational Health, e.g. noise and stress
- Farm safety
- Aspects of construction safety, e.g. working at height
- Health and safety legal updates
- Managing contractors
- Behavioural based safety
Once or twice a year, we also organise a free health and safety-themed site visit to a workplace of interest. Previous visits have included the Limerick Tunnel, ESB Ardnacrusha, Shannon Airport and Zimmer Biomet.
From time to time we also host free networking evenings where experiences are exchanged and business contacts made in the field of health and safety.
Whether you're an IOSH member or not you're more than welcome to come along anytime to our events, just contact us if you'd like to get in touch.
