Launch of IOSH’s No Time To Lose Campaign at Secondary Schools in Trinidad and Tobago

The IOSH Caribbean Branch had the privilege of being invited by the HSE Coordinator at the Ministry of Education, Ms. Petrina Clarke, to raise awareness about the risks associated with solar radiation faced by secondary school teachers in Trinidad. We were pleased to have 27 teachers in attendance, representing the majority of education districts on the island. This formally marked the launch of IOSH's NTTL (No Time To Lose) campaign in Secondary Schools across Trinidad.

The event was facilitated by the Caribbean Branch's Professional Development Officer, Navin Ragoo at the Miracle Ministries Pentecostal High School in Couva. Many of the teachers in attendance were physical education teachers and this led to some meaningful discussions around the information shared on skin cancer. Those in attendance were thoroughly captivated by the content of the presentation. During some post-event networking, some even expressed interest in having the IOSH CB present this information to Agricultural Science Teachers in the future. Next on the agenda, the Branch will roll out the NTTL Campaign at our Primary Schools!

Here are some photos from the event.
