This year, the 200th anniversary of the railways, the industry is beginning to implement major changes to the way it is owned and organised. With this in mind, this year’s IOSH Railway Group Conference will shine a spotlight on the opportunities that come with change and the management of the risks.
It will also reflect on lessons learned in the past and how these inform our planning for the future of the railways. The conference will provide a unique opportunity for safety professionals to learn about the challenges that need to be overcome to bring about major changes to the railway industry, while maximising the opportunities to improve the way we do things.
As railway safety professionals, we all have a vital role to play in making change happen effectively, while also preserving our industry’s excellent health and safety record. We can only do this if we work together and learn from each other. Building on last year’s highly successful event in Leeds, this year’s Railway Group Conference will bring together colleagues from across the country.
It will be an excellent opportunity to network, discuss common areas of concern, identify areas for collaboration and reflect on what history teaches us.
