"Unlike many other universities, specific professional health and safety advisers within our academic schools and support services is minimal. Managing Safely was therefore viewed as ideal to assist those with local health and safety coordination roles and management responsibilities. We wanted a flexible accredited resource that was of international renown and could be adapted to best suit our needs, especially in terms of scheduling."

The Council’s Safety Adviser recognised the contribution that managers and safety representatives could make in changing behaviour across the workforce. So they decided to source suitable training for these ‘key players’ and selected IOSH’s Managing Safely course. "The benefits of the Leading Safely course were immediate. We quickly built up a list of leading safety indicators and each course participant demonstrated positive safety leadership. This has led to visible leadership being displayed by our most senior executives. DFDS Seaways PLC Immingham Docks

DFDS Seaways PLC Immingham Docks recognised that increasing overall safety and health knowledge would encourage employees to report near-misses and actual incidents more often. So they opted to run our Managing Safely course for decision-makers and Working Safely for front-line colleagues.
