Large companies doing business in the European Union have new legal obligations regarding the human rights and environmental risks from their operations and supply chains.

The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) was approved by the European Parliament earlier in 2024. A number of European countries, including Germany and France, already had laws in place on mandatory human rights due diligence.
