This study aims to establish the prevalence of negative acts in the workplace in a nationally representative sample of Irish employees.
This project involved a survey of a national probability sample of employees focusing on workplace ill treatment received at least once over the previous two years.
As part of this study IOSH has developed guidance and a checklist tool to help organisations address ill treatment in the workplace.
Workplace ill-treatment checklist tool - a simple tool that organisations can adapt to explore the extent of ill-treatment in their organisation and to indicate the areas that need to be addressed by a suitable plan.
Workplace ill-treatment and productivity guidance - a guide aimed at informing members and helping them to determine next steps.
Workplace ill treatment management leaflet - a leaflet designed to be read by non-OSH practitioners to assist their understanding of the problem and what needs to be done to control it. The OSH practitioner can use this to brief his management team.
