External representatives

Help us to widen our influence

Many of our members represent us on national and international external committees. By working with us as official IOSH representatives, you can champion our vision for a safe and healthy world of work. It's a chance to promote our views and ensure our members are represented at all levels. We are updating and improving our external representative programme.

Who can represent us and what's involved?

We want to hear from members who have the experience and technical skills to represent us on external committees and at meetings.

The role involves giving feedback on information and insights from the external committees and meetings you attend.

This work helps to shape and sharpen our policies and advice in support of our vision of a safe and healthy world of work.

Why become an external representative?

  • Backing from the largest health and safety membership organisation in the world.
  • More influence within your committee and the wider profession.
  • Increased scope to drive the health and safety agenda within your organisation and beyond.
  • Practical support from us when you are preparing to address committee meetings.
  • Opportunities to share and showcase more widely your organisation’s great work in improving occupational safety and health.
  • Inspiring and guiding other occupational safety and health professionals to make similar improvements to their standards.

Current vacancies

We'll list here any new vacancies and how to apply.

Get in touch if you want further information about external representation or to suggest a new committee or meeting we could attend.
