Chartered Week runs from 24-28 February. It’s a great chance to highlight the contribution of occupational safety and health professionals from our top membership grades.

We’re the only organisation that offers Chartered membership to health and safety practitioners. It’s a mark of professional quality that’s recognised around the world.

Continuing professional development (CPD) is an important part of maintaining Chartered Member and Chartered Fellow status. It’s mandatory in these membership grades to do at least 30 hours of CPD per year.

Our Ethical Practice in OSH e-learning and assessment is also a requirement. This helps our Chartered Members and Fellows to stay up-to-date on ethical considerations in the profession.

My route to CMIOSH involved completing the skills development portfolio, where I demonstrated my competence through evidence and real-life work, which was then followed by the peer review interview.”

Our Chartered Members and Fellows are great role models and give back to the profession in many different ways.

They get involved as volunteers to support other IOSH members. This includes our branch and group networks, mentoring others on the same career path and offering their expertise on external committees.
