We offer reduced fees to support members facing financial difficulty. You can get help with joining IOSH, renewing your membership or applying for our membership upgrade routes.
Who can apply?
All our members can apply for this financial help, except Student Members.

Letter from your employer confirming time off work (must state any wage reduction). If self-employed: letter from your doctor confirming you’re unfit to work or benefit documentation. |

For membership applications and renewals, please use the form on this page to request a reduced fee before you pay for your membership.
For experiential route and Fellowship assessment, please apply after you've been accepted onto the route.
For Professional Development Assessment, you can use the form on this page to apply to join the route with a reduced fee.

My salary is paid in a different currency to British pound sterling (£). How do I know if I qualify for reduced fees?
We’ll convert your salary to British pound sterling using the current exchange rate at the time of your application.
Provide your salary documentation in your local currency and we’ll calculate the equivalent amount to determine your eligibility.
Do I need to reapply each year?
Yes, most reduced fees need to be renewed annually when you renew your membership. You'll need to provide updated evidence with each application.
Will my financial assistance application be kept confidential?
Yes, all applications are handled confidentially and your membership status and benefits remain unchanged.
What if my application is declined?
We’ll explain the reason and suggest what additional evidence might support a future application. You can contact us to discuss your circumstances.
