Welcome to the South Midlands Branch
On behalf of the committee and members, I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to the South Midlands Branch.
The South Midlands has a diverse range of industries from Manufacturing to Logistics, Agriculture to Technology and Retail to Construction to name but a few. With this diverse range of businesses South Midlands Branch provides practitioners with an environment for informed discussion, sharing of best practices and effective and enjoyable networking. We welcome safety practitioners from all backgrounds and are open to both IOSH and non-IOSH members.
From a historical perspective, our branch of IOSH has been supporting members in the Midlands since the 1990’s. We were a District (Midlands South) for many years prior to being a Branch and we were kindly supported by local business for our venue for meetings. COVID has brought many challenges to our branch and therefore change to interface with our members and visitors.
We would like to encourage you to join us for our branch events, whether face to face or remote – they’re an excellent way to make new contacts, pick up the latest news and ideas on best practice and network with other local health and safety professionals. We run several events throughout the year designed to be interesting to our members and to help you maintain your skills and knowledge. These events can also be used to contribute towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Details of all events can be found online at South Midlands branch via the Branch Events tab or at the MyIOSH section when you are logged in. If you have any questions about your branch, you can contact us via our web pages.
Finally, don’t forget to look out for Connect, your regular e-bulletin. Individually tailored, you will receive the latest news and event information from your branch and group together with up-to-the-minute industry news, jobs in your area and the latest CPD and IPD (Initial Professional Development) course details.
Once again, welcome to the South Midlands Branch. We hope you find this information useful but if you have any queries at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly on email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
