Questions and answers
Important information about changes to the IOSH Forum
We're introducing a new membership database which means we need to make changes to some legacy IOSH communication channels, including the IOSH Forum.
IOSH Forum closure
Why is the IOSH Forum closing?
The platform that the long-running IOSH Forum is hosted on is at the end of its serviceable life and is no longer secure.
When will the Forum close?
The Forum will officially close on 5 January 2026. After this date, access to the platform and its content will no longer be available.
Will I receive notifications or reminders before closure?
Notices of closure have been posted on the forum from mid-November 2025. We will also publish notifications via Connect – our weekly e-newsletter until the forum closes. The latest information on the closure and on wider changes to how we communicate with members will be shared through regular website updates.
Will I still be able to access past discussions?
Due to the outdated technology in the current Forum, you won’t be able to access past discussions once it has closed.
Can I download or archive my contributions or saved content?
Unfortunately, there is no automated export feature. If you wish to keep any of your contributions, please copy and save them manually before the closure.
Will any of the Forum content be migrated elsewhere?
Due to the outdated technology in the current forum, we won’t be able to migrate the content once it has closed.
Is there a replacement platform or community space being offered?
Yes, the replacement platform will be the IOSH online communities platform. The switchover won’t be immediate for all members whilst we get the new home ready. Volunteers, Future Leaders Community and Council members already have access to the new platform. All other members will be invited across as soon as the new platform is ready. We’re aiming for all members to be invited by the end of February 2026.
How can I continue networking with other IOSH members?
We encourage IOSH members to network through IOSH communities. Our industry and regional communities can help and support you with your career, continuing professional development (CPD), member progression, and much more.
Will IOSH offer other ways to engage in discussions or ask questions?
You can engage in discussions or ask questions via the The Official IOSH Group on LinkedIn, designed for the occupational safety and health community.
How will this affect my ability to stay informed or connected?
We’ll continue to keep members informed via Connect – our regular e-newsletter and through our social media channels. You can also get in touch with us at our events and webinars and through our communities.
Will this impact my continuing professional development (CPD)?
No, the closure of the forum won’t impact your CPD. You can continue to log activities and access CPD resources through our website
