Summary
Join this session for an open discussion. We’ll explore how modern safety thinking strengthens learning and resilience. It better reflects real day-to-day work.
This 60-minute session focuses on human and organisational performance (HOP). It explores how future leaders apply HOP principles in practice. The webinar centres on work-as-imagined versus work-as-done. This helps us understand how work really happens. These insights support learning and system improvement.
The session combines structured insight with real-world experience. We’ll introduce core HOP principles. Speakers will share practical case studies. These explore why errors made sense at the time. They examine the system conditions behind them. They show how organisations can learn and improve.
What you’ll learn:
- what the ‘new view of safety’ means and understand what HOP truly means for people at work
- to recognise HOP principles in daily operations – you may not currently label these as HOP
- to connect HOP concepts with real workplace scenarios – this includes past incidents and potential future situations
- to reflect on your existing systems – you’ll identify opportunities for improvement
- to shift from blame to learning – this changes how your organisation responds
- to build a stronger, more positive safety culture.
