Summary
Our second ‘for the members, by the members’ workshop of this year explores the challenges of professional development and offers practical ways to overcome them.
Hosted by Council members, this collaborative online session is shaped directly by your feedback, poll data and experiences.
You’ll leave with clarity, confidence and simple steps you can put into action straight away.
What you can expect
We’ll start with a quick recap of what you shared in the first workshop back in February and how those insights shaped this session.
You’ll see real examples from IOSH members, including honest experiences, screenshots and practical tips.
We’ll explore the main barriers to professional development in more depth and provide clear, practical solutions you can use straight away. These range from quick personal wins to support IOSH and employers could offer.
A live question-and-answer section and polls will let you guide the discussion and help us understand what support matters most.
You’ll finish by making a personal professional development action pledge.
Why attend?
You’ll gain:
- clarity on what counts as CPD
- practical tools to make CPD manageable

This workshop is about members supporting members – building your confidence, capability, and professional growth.
