Summary
Join us in Edinburgh for an event looking at hazards arising from damaged and demolished structures and the consequences for responders and the wider public.
You’ll learn:
- the scale of asbestos release during catastrophic events
- how this compares with known data from the Twin Towers collapse
- key risks for emergency workers, the public, and children.
This session explores how asbestos fibres are released during major building collapse and what this means for long-term health risks. Drawing on United Nations (UN) data and evidence from the collapse of the World Trade Center, it provides real-world insight into the scale of exposure.
