About us
The Tees Branch was formed in the early 1960s covering the geographical area of County Durham and North Yorkshire on either side of the River Tees estuary.
During the early days the branch members worked predominantly in the chemical, steel manufacture and heavy engineering industries, with local companies supporting the branch by providing meeting venues and refreshments.
Although the industries that branch members now work in are much more diverse with many working in service industries and training it is still supported with speakers and meeting venues by local organisations.
The Tees Branch membership is one of the smallest in the institution, which has enabled it to be an informal, friendly branch in which members can talk with others over a cup of tea or coffee during daytime seminars or prior to evening branch meetings.
All are welcome at Tees Branch events, including those who are not members of the IOSH.
