Guidance on completing the form

This application form must be completed in one go, as you won’t be able to save your progress and return to it later. We recommend drafting your answers in Word first, then copying and pasting them into the form.

Before submitting your application, you should refer to the  IOSH conflict of interest policy , at the point of shortlisting you will be invited to declare any conflicts specific to the role. 

You must complete the form yourself. We are unlikely to consider your application if you use AI-generated responses without personal examples. We will check for AI-generated content. All applicants will need to provide the following:

A personal statement outlining your motivation for applying for the role and how your skills and experience align with the responsibilities set out in the role description (500 words).

Committee Members

Question 1: Can you give an example of a situation where you needed to balance transparency with confidentiality? How did you handle it? (250 words)

Question 2: Please describe your understanding of the governance structure of IOSH, referring to the current strategy and demonstrate how your experience to date can support the recruitment of key roles within it (250 words).

Vice Chair

Question 1: What are the characteristics of a high performing committee? And how do you believe you meet those characteristics?

Question 2: Please outline an example where you have encountered challenge or a difference of opinion with another team, or individual when working together, and how you went about managing this?
