Are you interested in volunteering on a community committee?
Volunteering for an IOSH community is a rewarding way to achieve personal growth, keep up-to-date, and make a real difference. It opens doors, providing the opportunity to broaden your skills and experience, get unrivalled networking opportunities, and play your part in making workplaces safer and healthier.
We’re keen to ensure our committees are diverse, inclusive, and represent all parts of our membership. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Our application process for community committees is designed to be clear and transparent, so you know exactly what to expect.

Who can apply?
Before you begin, please ensure that you are eligible to apply.
You must:
- be a member of the specific community that you are applying for
- be continuing professional development (CPD) compliant according to the requirements of your grade
- have paid your annual membership subscription
- not be in financial arrears to the Institution
- not be subject to any ongoing IOSH Code of Conduct (PDF 497KB) disciplinary procedures.
Your commitment to volunteering
To join one of our community committees you will also need to meet the following criteria:
- be available to attend regular committee meetings each year, either in person or online
- be prepared to get involved in either contributing to or leading a project or event that supports our Activate 2028 strategy (PDF 2.03MB)
- bring fresh and inclusive ideas that help make the work of the committee successful including suggesting speakers, topics, and initiatives.
