IOSH at The Health and Safety Event 2026

Highlights from the UK’s leading event for health and safety professionals

Thousands of health and safety professionals from every sector and region of the UK gathered at the NEC Birmingham.

We were at the heart of it. From the Keynote Theatre to the exhibition stand, this was the profession coming together to share ideas, challenge thinking and look at what comes next.

Three days of keynote sessions, practical workshops and conversations that mattered.

From the Keynote Theatre

As lead partner and host of the Keynote Theatre, we delivered a programme that went far beyond compliance checklists and procedural updates.

The theme running through every session was the same. The profession is expanding – into culture, mental health, sustainability and the boardroom. The practitioners who embrace that expansion are already doing the work.

  • The evolving profession
  • Keep Britain working
  • Sexual harassment and abuse
  • Gen Z at work
  • Safety, sustainability, supply chain

“Your culture is defined by the worst thing you’re willing to tolerate.”

Job role
Company
  • Your culture is shaped by the behaviours you walk past.

    • Notice what gets ignored
    • Engage, don’t just inform
  • Health risks are often underestimated and the consequences felt across all sectors.

    • Design work people stay in
    • Act early, not reactively
  • Harassment, trauma and poor job design cause real, measurable harm.

    • Address root causes
    • Train bystanders, not just managers

Our Keynote Theatre sessions were captured and analysed using an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool.

The summaries, takeaways and ideas are AI-generated, a starting point for reflection and further reading, not a substitute for the full sessions.
