UR Wellbeing – embedding a clear wellbeing strategy

Challenging assumptions and supporting organisations with IOSH training

UR Wellbeing, a growing corporate workplace wellbeing provider, is building its reputation. By enrolling managers on the IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing course, the business is better placed to help organisations create environments where employees can thrive and feel genuinely supported.

Supporting organisations to deliver positive change

UR Wellbeing partners with organisations to develop wellness spaces in the workplace, in particular for larger office environments. By transforming underused areas into active spaces, employees can move more during their days.

Alongside facility design, they provide musculoskeletal support, health MOTs, point-of-care testing, wellbeing workshops and personalised fitness programmes.

“Wellbeing’s been quite siloed – it’s never really sat perfectly with one department. The word ‘strategy’ is very woolly, nobody really knows where it lives. You see job adverts shouting about Employee Assistance Programmes and birthday days off, but it should be deeper than that”

Job role
Company

Luke’s role as Wellbeing Manager allows him to combine his background in education and health with hands-on experience of behavioural change. By focusing beyond physical activity, he is now in a position to influence wider occupational health and wellbeing strategies with his clients.

Luke needed to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, while also developing his own understanding of both the strategic and legislative side of occupational health and wellbeing. With greater confidence to work with both HR and executives at client organisations, he could help them move from isolated benefits into a coherent, robust strategy.

“We're delighted to see so many line managers finding the IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing course genuinely insightful and useful in their day-to-day roles. The ease with which learners tell us they can apply the principles and best practices from the course, and the way it helps line managers review their approach to managing health and wellbeing in the workplace makes this a functional, pragmatic learning experience – not something that's abstract or vague. We hope even more managers take advantage of this excellent opportunity – the positive feedback speaks for itself.”

Luke completed the IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing course via eLearning, balancing his study with client commitments. Structured modules on strategy, documentation and organisational responsibility built his knowledge in an accessible, practical way.

He learned the importance of a proactive wellbeing strategy, that evolves over time to meet changing commitments and responsibilities. Wellbeing must be an embedded part of overall business objectives.

Eye-opening and confidence building

Since completing the course, Luke feels better equipped to engage senior stakeholders in strategic discussions. He can challenge assumptions and support organisations as they review their existing approaches and policies.

His qualification is also a benefit to UR Wellbeing’s credibility as both a service and strategic partner. The business can lead with a modern, integrated approach and help clients create environments for employees to thrive.
