The effects of shift work on health

This report discusses the underlying causes of health and safety problems associated with abnormal work schedules and ageing.

Through the analyses of ‘VISAT’ (ageing, health and work) data study the study determines the long-term effects of shift work on:

  • sleep
  • cognition
  • metabolic dysfunction
  • quality of life.

This research was undertaken by the International University of Monaco, Universit Toulouse le Mirail, University of Swansea & Simon Folkard Associates Ltd.
