Future leaders community

Tor became a Chartered Member in February 2022 while working at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He is a committee member for our Midland West Branch and is looking forward to helping develop pathways and opportunities for new safety and health practitioners.

Mohammed holds a degree in electrical engineering and has a passion for environment and climate advocacy. He represents Sudan as an African front within World’s Youth for Climate Justice.

Joey is based in Vancouver and has more than 10 years' experience working for unions in New Zealand, Australia, UK and Canada. He has qualifications in safety and health, human rights and geography.

Alanah self-funded a career change to safety and health during the Covid-19 pandemic. She is passionate about encouraging women into the profession and making it a first-choice career option for all.

Gary is a driven leader with a focus on employee engagement and development. He has worked across various industries including logistics, central government, facilities management and construction. Gary is a Chartered Member and active within his local branch.

Amber provides support and guidance to enable university research to take place. She started out in safety and health in a voluntary role before studying for the NEBOSH Certificate and Diploma and turning it into a career.

Mathew works in the waste management industry, focusing on glass recycling. He moved into a safety and health career after working as a supervisor and being inspired by his responsibilities for the wellbeing of colleagues.

Alex looks after the health and safety of veterinary professionals, one of the most dangerous industries outside of the armed forces.

Debbie has found IOSH literature and webinars useful in developing her career. Her goal is to become a Graduate Member.

Charles’ background is in behavioural safety, in particular safety culture and training. He’s keen to create opportunities for young professionals in the safety community to work together, share ideas and build networks.

Fiona studied geography and geoscience at university and moved into occupational health and safety a year after graduating. She wants to change perceptions of occupational safety and health to ensuring everyone goes home safe each day.

Abdul became a Chartered Member at 25 and mentors new occupational safety and health practitioners to become qualified.

Carly has a passion for helping people and promoting safe working practices. She has worked in safety and health across different sectors since the age of 18. Carly holds the NCRQ level 6 diploma in applied health and safety and is an elected member of our Council.

Dylan worked as a postman and in operations management for Royal Mail but was always interested in occupational safety and health. He studied for qualifications outside of work and in 2022 became a safety advisor at Royal Mail.

Abhijith graduated in mechanical engineering and began his safety and health career in 2021. He delivers safety training to people in different sectors and countries.

Nishma works for TfL developing and implementing their safety, health and environment (SHE) culture and strategy. Nishma is a UN Women UK delegate volunteer, leading on strategic recommendations and policy to promote gender equality and empowerment of women.

Peter has a degree in health, safety and environmental management and interned as a safety and health professional at Texas A&M University, Qatar. His current role involves working with a range of clients across the UK to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.

Niall works in retail construction and facilities management environments. His focus is on "making safety simple" using new and existing technologies. Niall 'fell' into the safety and health industry after completing a Masters in international business with modern languages.

Midhun has a Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering and is working towards a Masters in occupational safety and health. He is a Chartered Member of IOSH and a Certified Safety Professional (BCSP).

Abigail is passionate about increasing awareness of safety and health in the workplace and beyond. She’s working towards becoming a Chartered Member.
