IOSH is delighted to be sponsoring the Africa Safety Award for Excellence again. This year’s Awards ceremony takes place on 8 November, and IOSH is looking forward to being part of a wonderful occasion to showcase efforts in shaping a better and more sustainable world of work.
The AfriSAFE ceremony once more promises to be a superb demonstration of the distinct contribution made by safety and health professionals, including IOSH’s own members, to business and society in Africa.
More than 1,200 entries were received in 12 categories from four African regions for this year’s Awards, showing the amazing range and volume of innovative occupational safety and health practice being undertaken right across the continent.
The Awards take place at an encouraging time for IOSH, as it finalises preparations for its own special event in Africa. Less than a week later, on 13 November, IOSH will host a webinar to launch its first-ever African member network – the IOSH West Africa Division.
It will be a network that will provide a natural home for safety and health professionals in Nigeria, Ghana and other countries in the region. It will offer professional support to members and a forum to share knowledge, skills and experience. The IOSH West Africa Division will be connected directly to IOSH’s global membership of over 47,000 safety and health professionals, and members will gain access to high-quality training which will advance their career development.
In the spirit of international partnership and mutual support, IOSH sends its best wishes for a successful AfriSAFE Awards ceremony and looks forward to ever-closer collaboration with businesses and organisations throughout Africa on our shared objectives in safety and health matters.
