Speaker: Michelle Walsh, Training & Development Coordinator, Safenet
Living with domestic abuse has a serious and life-changing impact on all aspects of life especially health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have led to an increase in domestic abuse, including amongst children who no longer have the safety net of attending school.
Michelle will explain how managers can spot signs of domestic abuse in their work colleagues and suggest practical ways that those suffering from abuse can be encouraged to seek the professional help and protection that they need.
Safenet are the lead provider in Lancashire for domestic abuse refuge services. Their support staff are trained to help victims of domestic abuse gain access to the right support services and to act as advocates if necessary. Safenet provides refuge safe houses for women and children, male safe houses, community-based support and specialist refuges for those with additional problems such as addiction or mental illness.
