29 January 2020 - CPD/IPD workshop
It was for IOSH member needing help with the online CPD system, as well as any IOSH Graduate members looking to elevate their status to Chartered Member via the IPD process, & for members who are taking the first step to obtaining Chartered Member status (CMIOSH) by finding out about IPD and get “hands-on” knowledge of the CPD process. The process was exampled with question and answer sessions thought-out the presentation.

11 November 2019 - Blank sheets vs Checklists
Dr Victor Hrymak discussed the use of checklists versus visual inspection when it comes to identifying workplace hazards. The presentation covered: The ability of checklists to adequately observe hazards in the workplace has been called into question. The attendees saw how using a novel visual search method, can improve current visual inspections and be considered a credible alternative to checklists in helping to identify workplace.
01 May 2019 - The challenges she faces as a HSE professional and in particular with recruiting HSE professionals
Leo Harris of Manguard Plus, discussed Informed and informative talk on Business/Enterprise Risk, and how it relates to the health and safety profession and businesses increasing regulatory requirements and reducing appetite for risk.
Róisín Miller, Associate Director with MSD, discussed the challenges she faced as a HSE professional and the future challenges/recruiting for OSH professionals.
05 March 2019 - FM Ireland Conference
Michelle Mc Dermott addressed the Chemical Agents Regulation 2001 & 2015, covering the specific requirements necessary to identify hazards ( SDS, Labels, etc.), to complete a risk assessment and to implement controls. The presentation included examples of Safety Data Sheets, labels and typical risk assessments, illustrating the common gaps seen in meeting the legal requirements.

07 March 2018 - ISO 45001 - The New Health and Safety Standard

After some Networking, Mr. Shane Lynam, Director of Design Risk Management and e-learning Safety outlined how e-learning can be used in your training and support Safety Culture through active , frequent engagement. He also discussed some pitfalls and free resources. After a lively Q&A session, the Branch AGM was held.
