Your branch, district or section represents IOSH in your area, providing member benefits, sharing knowledge and leading the local IOSH community. It is supported by a group of dedicated member volunteers who make up the committee.
Resources for volunteers, including committee roles and responsibilities, can be found by visiting the Volunteer Portal.
Important changes to the AGM, nomination and election process
As the global pandemic continues to disrupt the way that we would normally do things IOSH has taken measures to enable branches, districts and sections to be able to hold their AGMs and conduct elections on a virtual platform in a safe, fair and effective way.
Regulation 15 which governs branches, districts and sections has been amended to enable branch AGMs to be held virtually and for nominations and elections to take place electronically.
How do I join a branch, district or section Executive Committee?
Taking up an Executive Committee role is a great opportunity to develop your CPD and enhance your skills, experience and leadership. Elected roles this year include the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Co-ordinator and Committee members.
Nominations for all branch, district and section Executive Committees will open on Monday 15 February and close of Monday 01 March 2021. From Monday 15 February you'll be able to view all vacancies and role descriptions, and submit an application, on the nominations site.
Elections will take place between Wednesday 17 March and Wednesday 31 March 2021, when all branch members will be able to vote for their preferred candidates and thereafter nominees will be informed of the outcome as soon as practicably possible with positions being confirmed at the branch AGMs.
Mi-Voice are an independent organisation that provide electoral services and will help IOSH manage the virtual nominations and elections process. Please contact Mi-Voice support for any queries about accessing the nominations site or voting platform.
