The winners of IOSH’s Excellence Awards 2018 were revealed at the Institution’s annual dinner on Tuesday 18 September.
The awards are handed out in three categories, each representing one of the three pillars of IOSH’s WORK 2022 strategy: enhance, collaborate and influence. The group won the Enhance category.
To allow our members to understand the health and safety culture within different organisations across the sector, the group arranged a series of visits.
Over the past year, we have organised six workshops at food and drink premises. They were at Allied Bakeries, Molson Coors, Nestle, Greencore, G’s Foods and British Sugar. A further visit is planned to Weetabix next month.
The events have allowed delegates to have a tour around the sites and hear how each manages health and safety.
The group’s entry said: “Every delegate has stated that they have taken away ideas and practical advice from the workshops, which they can develop and implement in their businesses and sites to help plan and implement health and safety culture change.”
