Another excellent meeting at the branch where we were joined by President Elect, Louise Hosking, fresh from the IOSH AGM. It was a real pleasure to welcome Louise on her first official visit (virtually) to another branch. It was refreshing to hear some information about the plans ahead for the organisation and realise that we are in very capable hands between her, James Quinn the President and the Presidential team as a whole.
Our guest speaker Sam O’Callaghan from Capital Law gave a thorough presentation on aspects of construction law that were of great interest and benefits to our members with a welcome concentration on SSIP accreditation schemes. Sam’s extensive knowledge as a legal professional specialising in this field was brought to bear for the benefit of over 70 attendees for the meeting.
The meeting concluded with our membership and Professional Development Officer David Starling giving a presentation on the competency framework now currently active and guiding the membership. David applied this to his CPD and showed an excellent and supportive approach to members who will need to give a great deal of consideration to this in the coming months.
All in all it was a great meeting, well attended and well received and as ever we continue to make all the information from the meeting available to you and look to move our support and assistance to members forward at every opportunity.
