Mental Health and Wellbeing & Ergonomics and branch updates

Another great event for the branch with 59 people in attendance to hear 2 great speakers on 2 interesting and ‘in demand’ subjects. Both Kirsty who addressed us on many aspects of Ergonomics, and Sue who gave us great detail on Mental Health, Health and Well Being and many connected topics, offered real experience and insight. Both topics had great depth and showed how valuable our monthly seminars are continuing to be. Our speakers are all experts in their fields and bring a lot to these events and the branch in general.

If you missed out, or indeed you want to recap and benefit from the presentations and resources you can access these via Our Recent Events Page.

Join our branch Committee.

Opportunity for a co-opted member to join the committee of South Wales IOSH.

We are really excited about creating an opportunity for a member from the branch to join our committee and assist us with some key areas of member development. Specifically, we require someone to promote student membership and the IOSH Future Leaders Programme. In addition we are looking for that person to support the branch membership officer, as well as the branch in general by developing a broader understanding of graduate training and development programmes, the work of our education establishments and how we can support greater development and opportunity with this area of education delivery.

To be considered you must be eligible yourself for the Future Leader Programme, and remain so, up to and including the branch AGM in May 2021.

This is a great opportunity to join the branch committee and contribute to the wider development of understanding and commitment in this very important area. Please submit a brief resume (100 words) about yourself, as well as an overview (100 words) as to what you think you can bring to the position to support and develop others. Please send you submission or queries to southwales@ioshnetworks.com

Future Events
We have two great events in July on the 23rd and 30th. The latter will see a presentation from Karen McDonnell from ROSPA on the importance and power of collaboration between safety groups. It promises to be a great event so please look out for details in the coming weeks and book in.

Thanks to everyone for continuing to support the branch and we look forward to hearing from you with any questions or concerns. Please email us at any time.
